About the Event
Lincoln Alarm & Muster: The LMM re-enact the scene on the town common in the early hours of April 19, 1775, as minute men and their families responded to the alarm that British soldiers were advancing from Boston. The news is brought on horseback by Captain William Smith, the alarm is sounded by the town bell and musket fire, minute men rush from neighboring houses in response, women and children gather in support and concern. Captain Smith assembles the soldiers for roll call, offers a stirring speech, and calls for a brisk musket drill and practice volleys. The Company and the spectators then march together to Pierce House, for more music, musket volleys, and interaction with the public. This event takes place no matter what the weather.
